Any UK travelers wishing for an afternoon tea experience in Thailand? Divana is your place to be

Starting off fancy with Divana Signature Café at CentralWOrld, Thailand’s largest shopping mall.

While coffees and simple cafe pastries are easy enough to come by in Bangkok, you’ll be struggling if you are looking for an British afternoon tea experience/vibe as these aren’t as popular in Thailand.

Divana’s is what I would call the peak of tea time elegance and luxury, they are most well known for their afternoon tea sets containing a wide selection of homemade pastries, cakes, and desserts, as well as various teas and coffee drinks for you to try.

You can pre-order an Afternoon Tea Set for 32% off, the base set can feed 1-2 people, but you purhcase a larger set which comes with enough tea and pastries to feed a whole family.

Dozens of coffee beans to choose from, you’ll never get bored of filter coffee at Mother Roaster Pratu Phi

Mother Roaster Pratu Phi is a filter coffee lover’s dream. The whole shop specializes in only drip coffee with dozens, maybe even hundreds of coffee beans to choose from.

From earthy, and chocolate-y dark roasts to a light and floral light roasted coffee beans, there is bound to be a coffee bean that is right for you.

Mother Roaster Pratu Phi is actually a recent discover of mine. I happened to stop by this little cafe whilst I was on my way to Wat Saket, the temple of the Golden Mount, which is nearby.

I fell in love with Mother Roaster Pratu Phi because it just so cool and the owners are so passionate about their filter coffee beans. If you are interested, you can read my Mother Roaster Pratu Phi review here.

Mother Roaster Pratu Phi is absolutely the place for the best filter coffee in Bangkok.

You know the coffee is going to be good when you see a large scale setup like this

If you’ve been living in Bangkok for a while and are a big coffee fanatic like I am, no doubt you’ll know about NANA Coffee Roasters, arguably one of the most popular and best cafes in Bangkok.

While a little bit expensive, NANA Coffee Roaster serves a variety of coffee beans, snacks, and pastries.

While I was there I ordered a smoked salmon and caviar tart, It tasted pretty good and not to mention, I felt very fancy eating that caviar.

It’s expensive but the quality is superb, great tasting coffee, and a great place to relax or get some work done.

7. Artis

artis coffee

The very definition of a small cozy cafe

Artis holds a special place in my heart. This cafe is owned by a friend of mine, and it is the same friend that got me into the world of coffee in the first place.

Artis is a small cafe that is located not far from Asoke BTS and Terminal 21, while the cafe itself is small, it houses some very tasty and big bold coffees.

I recommend you try their dirty coffee, it’s so rich and creamy that it almost tastes like very thick milk chocolate.

6. Tabebuya

tabebuya cafe

This Red Velvet drink is so f*cking good guys, I swear

Tabebuya is a hidden gem and honestly there is nothing really of note here, they just do coffee really well. Do they have the best coffee in Bangkok? Honestly, I think it could be.

Tabebuya is a cafe that is more suited to sitting down and getting your work done, the interior is simple and minimalistic, with nice background music, and friendly staff.

Some drinks that I do highly recommend are their Haru Coffee, a concoction of espresso, ginger, lemon, and soda.

For Non-coffee drinkers, their Red Velvet is absolutely divine. A rich chocolate milk, with vanilla milk, combined with a layer of their homemade strawberry jam. Even though it’s not coffee Tabebuya’s Red Velvet is my favorite drink.

You can read my review of Tabebuya here.

Bangkok City Street Food Tours

Bangkok is a huge city with thousands of delicious street foods to try. It can be hard to plan and organize the best places to eat so why not book a Bangkok food tour to make things easier? These are some of the best food tours I personally recommend:

5. The Wood Land

the wood land cafe

Coffee and nature what’s not to love?

For an Instagrammable cafe, The Wood Land is up there on the list, with natural decorations and designs that puts emphasis on the natural beauty of the environment.

The Wood Land cafe is a very relaxing cafe as a result.

The cafe is divided into 2 sections, the outdoors, for the true nature lovers amongst us, and the air conditioned room, and Living in Bangkok, I know for sure that most of you will be heading into that air conditioned room.

There are a lot of caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks to choose from as well as food items like Spaghetti or Pork Katsu Curry Rice.

4. Dog in Town Ekkamai

dog in town cafe ekkamai

Who could resist petting these good boys and girls?

Who doesn’t love dogs? Dog cafes in Bangkok are some of the most fun you’ll have at any cafe.

Who are we kidding, we don’t go to a dog cafe to drink great coffee, we go there to play with the dogs, and Dog in Town has a wide range of good boys and girls to play with.

From big furry Samoyeds to small feisty Chihuahuas, all the dogs are friendly, playful, and most importantly treated well, so there are absolutely no ethical concerns.

There is an entry fee of 350 THB but that includes a free drink as well.

Dog cafes are a must visit and some of the best things to do in Bangkok.

3. Gimbocha

gimbocha teahouse cafe

Never before have I felt so fancy drinking tea

Gimbocha is a hidden gem full of charm and character.

Don’t be mistaken, Gimbocha is a teahouse/cafe, however, they do not serve coffee, only tea.

With dozens of freshly sourced tea leaves to choose from, much like how Mother Roaster Pratu Phi is a filter coffee lover’s dream, Gimbocha is a tea lovers dream.

I absolutely love their charming decor, with cute characters and paintings scattered all around the cafe, plus they even have a pet cat that roams around entertaining customers.

On the snacks and pastries side, if you come to Gimbocha, you definitely need to try their dessert Mooncakes, as well as their deep fried Mantou with condense milk.

You can read my review of Gimbocha here.

2. Factory Coffee Bangkok

factory coffee bangkok

Factory Coffee Bangkok does feel like of like a factory for coffee

Factory Coffee Bangkok is located near BTS Phaya Thai and it’s a favorite amongst locals and digital nomads alike.

As the name suggests, Factory Coffee Bangkok features an industrialist design with concrete brick walls and furniture constructed from metal pipes and beams. The design is very trendy and makes for a comfortable atmosphere.

Of course the important thing to note is the coffee, and while the menu is simple, they do their coffee really well here. The price can be a bit expensive but Factory Coffee Bangkok makes up for it by serving the some damn good specialty coffee, maybe even the best coffee in Bangkok.

1. Luka Cafe

luka cafe coffee shop

Luka Cafe is THE place for coffee and brunch

Luka Cafe is a popular coffee shop around Silom. A chic and sort of hipster coffee shop, Luka Cafe is a great place to spend the morning or afternoon working on whatever you digital nomads work on.

Their menu also contains a variety of filling dishes and snacks like a hearty chocolate brownie or a breakfast burrito.

Luka Cafe feels more like a brunch spot rather tan a traditional cafe, but that doesn’t stop them from serving some great tasting coffee as well.
